In the midst of the storm
In the midst of the storm
Jesus said come and he did
Jesus said come and he did
One of my favorite Bible stories, is the one about Peter walking on the water. Imagine yourself hanging out with the disciples, as they pile the nets into the boat then launch out into the deep. Then dark clouds begin to gather, the wind howls and the sea begins to churn and froth.
They feared for their lives.

Huge waves crested over their boat, threatening to tear it to shreds. No wonder they feared for their lives. But even in their moment of despair, hope was coming their way.
"It is I ,do not to be afraid." Jesus told them. Then Peter in a moment of bold and brave confidence said "Lord if it is really you, then call me to come to you upon the waters.
What would you have done? In all honesty, I wouldn't have got in the boat at all. I prefer to keep my feet on solid ground. But if Jesus told me to come, I'd like to think I'd be brave enough to do it.
Jesus said" COME" and he did!

I admire Peter, his faith his confidence and faith in Jesus motivated him to take a risk n the other disciples wouldn't. He faced the fear of his circumstances, {a raging storm} by stepping out of the boat and walking on the water to Jesus. We don't know how far peter walked before he began to sink. But as soon as he cried for help, Jesus rescued him, then stilled the storm.
Peace be still"!
We all face storms in this life, the rain falls on the good and the bad. The storms of life have a way of causing even the strong to feel weak and fearful at times. Jesus said in this world we will have tribulation but He give us peace and still the storm around us and within us.

Are you in the midst of a storm that filled your heart with fear? I know, It's hard to see through the dark clouds despair and seemingly hopeless circumstances. But, circumstances are a distraction. One that causes us to focus on the problem instead of the answer. The hope, peace and answer we need is found in Christ. He's the one who still the storms of life, heals us, renews us and works all things out for good. So no matter what you're going through:
The one who walks on water,
stills the storms,
heals the brokenhearted,
gives sight to the blind,
and the author and finisher of our faith, hears your cry and will get you through the storm.
Prayer.
Dear Lord, When the storms of life overwhelm me, help to keep my eyes on you. Let my steps be sure and steady and fill me with your peace that passes understanding.
In Jesus name Amen!
